Privacy Policy

The Trustee for National Disability Support & Care Trust T/A NDSC  ABN 74 388 722 068 (NDSC, we, us, our) is committed to protecting the privacy of your personal information. This policy outlines how NDSC collects, uses and discloses your personal information and how to get in touch with us for any concerns or queries about our management of your personal information. This policy does not cover personal information about its employees, collected or held by NDSC. Employees can contact their manager or HR representative for information about our employee information handling practices.

We generally collect personal and/or sensitive information directly from you through the use of our standard forms, interviews, via email or through a telephone conversation with you. With your consent we may collect personal and/or sensitive information from third party contractors or agents and government Instrumentalities that are involved in the provision of our supports and services.

We collect your personal and/or sensitive information for any one or more of the following reasons:

  • Providing our supports or services to you and to ensure they meet your requirements;
  • To assist with your queries;
  • Facilitating our internal business operations, including the fulfilment of any legal obligations; and
  • Analyzing our services and participants’ needs with a view to developing new and/or improved services.

We will not give your personal information to government agencies, private sector organisations or anyone else unless you consent or one of the following exceptions applies:

  • You would reasonably expect us to use the information for that other purpose;
  • It is legally required or authorised, such as by an Australian law, or court or tribunal order; 
  • Formally requested by regulatory bodies, government agencies and law enforcement bodies, including the Department of Human Services and the NDIA; 
  • We reasonably believe that it is necessary to lessen or prevent a serious threat to the life, health or safety of any individual, or to public health or safety; and
  • We have reason to suspect that unlawful activity, or misconduct of a serious nature, that relates to our functions or activities has been, is being or may be engaged in and we reasonably believe that it is necessary for us to take appropriate action in relation to the matter.
  • In the unlikely event that the assets and operations of our business are sold to another party, our records of personal and sensitive information will be transferred to that party.

NDSC tracks user traffic patterns throughout all of our sites. However, we do not correlate this information with data about individual users. NDSC does break down overall usage statistics according to a user’s domain name, browser type.

We use tracking information to determine which areas of our sites users like and don’t like based on traffic to those areas. We do not track what individual users read, but rather how well each page performs overall. This helps us continue to build a better service for you.

We may place a text file called a “cookie” in the browser files of your computer. NDSC only uses cookies to track user traffic patterns. The cookie itself does not contain Personal Information although it will enable us to relate your use of this site to information that you have specifically and knowingly provided. But the only personal information a cookie can contain is information you supply yourself. 

You can refuse cookies by turning them off in your browser. If you’ve set your browser to warn you before accepting cookies, you will receive the warning message with each cookie. You do not need to have cookies turned on to use this site. However, you do need cookies to fill forms and other information on the website. 

NDSC uses any information voluntarily given by our users to enhance their experience in our network of sites, make contact via phone or email to provide information requested by users, provide interactive or personalised elements on the sites or to better prepare future content based on the interests of our users.

We give users options wherever necessary and practical. Such choices include:

  • Opting not to participate in certain interactive areas, which completely alleviates the need to gather any personally identifiable information from our users.
  • Contact vie email or phone to request the deletion of any correspondence or personal information.

By using this site, you consent to the collection and use of this information by NDSC. If we decide to change our privacy policy, we will post those changes on this page so that you are always aware of what information we collect, how we use it, and under what circumstances we disclose it.
